Groningen - Martial Arts City
Groningen is reknown for its Martial Arts: the city hosts an enormous
variety in Martial Arts that are practiced on a very high level. But mostly:
instead of looking at their own martial arts as "the true and only one",
Groningen's fighters treat each other respectfully.
Therefore Groningen rightfully bears its title "Martial Arts City".
MAG 2001
In the event MAG 2001 (Martial Arts in Groningen), demo teams of a number of
Groningen's schools of martial arts demonstrate the different aspects of
their art in an attractive way. There will also be exhibitions of our
special guest: Master Chen Lei, top Wushu practitioner from China.
MAG - Martial Arts in Groningen aims to promote martial arts: the fighting
arts in general, and especially Groningen as Martial Arts City. MAG provides
its public with a good overview of the differents martial arts and the high
level of their practice in Groningen.
In 2001 we hope minimally to equal the success of the first MAG (in April
1999). At that event more than 100 martial artists performed for an
enthusiastic public of 300 people !
